About Fouragers
Fouragers makes trail maps and hiking guides for the places worth knowing well — starting with Portland's Forest Park.
We believe the best way to fall in love with a wild place is to understand it: where the trails go, how the land rises and falls, and the history under your feet. That belief led us to build a small, carefully made collection focused on a single, extraordinary landscape — the 5,200 acres and roughly 80 miles of trails of Forest Park in Portland, Oregon.
Why Forest Park
Forest Park is one of the largest urban forests in the United States and home to the Wildwood Trail, the longest natural-surface trail inside any American city. It is a place where you can be deep in mature forest minutes from downtown. We think a landscape that special deserves maps and guides made with equal care — accurate, durable, and genuinely useful on the trail, not just decorative.
What we make
Our collection is built around the different ways people use a map:
- A waterproof pocket trail map designed to live in a jacket and survive Portland weather.
- A topographic wall print that works as both planning surface and art for any Portland hiker's wall.
- The definitive guidebook, Forest Park: Exploring Portland's Natural Sanctuary by Marcy Cottrell Houle, which tells the park's natural and human story in depth.
- An Explorer Bundle that pairs the map and the book for anyone who wants both.
Our standard
Every product we sell has to pass one test: would it actually help someone have a better, safer day in the park? We favor accuracy over decoration, durability over gloss, and depth over hype. We draw on authoritative sources — including the work of longtime Forest Park advocate and author Marcy Cottrell Houle — so that what we put in your hands reflects the real park.
Whether you are planning your first walk on the Wildwood Trail or your hundredth, we would love to help you explore it well. Browse the full Forest Park collection to find the map or guide that fits how you like to get outside.
